This was one of the most information packed webinars I've seen in a while. It was about one aspect of V-Ray - Image sampling, but Brian Smith did such a wonderfull job at explaining this subject that I just had to mention it here. The presentation itself progressed without a hitch which in itself is somewhat of a rare thing. It was the content that I found so well delivered. He supplied plenty of explanations and demonstrations of the points he was making.

Using a simple apartment scene Brian took us through all the settings and checkboxes and spinners used in V-Ray for setting the image sampling controls. We got a good understanding of what is meant by pixel subdivisions and how it changes our image when we change these numbers. Adaptive DMC was covered next with a good description on the uses of this choice. The information just kept on flowing - I can't possibly tell you about all of it nor should I.

He gave us examples of numbers to use when we initially set up a scene. Brian shared common setting of numbers he uses, as well as pointing out which areas of V-Ray are the most important to set right if you want good results without spending time on long renders.

Let me just say that when 3DATS - Architectural Training Solutions is generous enough to offer this high quality training for free - sign up for it. Unless you're an expert you will definitely come away from it with a better understanding on whatever topic they offer, if this webinar is any indication of their teaching abilities.
