Our very own Kurt interviews Peter Draper up in Canada over memorial day weekend.

Introduction – The Where, When, Why and How of this interview.

Clip 1 – Introducing Pete Draper, his college experience and how he begin his career in the field of 3D Computer Graphics (CG).

Clip 2 – Peter's 1st computer experience as a child, his early work in programming graphics on a VIC-20, as well as playing computer games with basic sprites and then re-creating those sprite based games on his own at 10 yrs old!

Clip 3 - A Career in 3D CG and what advice he would give to others with regards to a career in 3D CG.

Clip 4 – Career advice (con'd). - 3D CG - it's an Art-form! Enjoy it and have fun! He truly loves it; he continues to be challenged by 3D CG - it's about problem solving.

Clip 5 - Working with computers at an early age, and then the University years and early computers Acorn Archimedes. The use of square sprites and collision detection. His 1st foray into animation and his introduction to 3DS for DOS.

Clip 6 - Looking back on Old 3DS for Dos usage and the required slowing down newer PC's. Then, back to a discussion of his Degree in Engineering (programming in C & Pascal) – a degree meant for IT, infrastructure, and TCP/IP. Then - the BIG switch back to Art on Computers - Scrapped his degree (w/a passing grade) and switched gears - produced his first demo reel! Then discussed his early Art and Technical drawing experience.

Clip 7 – Discussed his old work lying around at his home and 2 special pieces of art that met an untimely demise and his influence by a famous artist.

Clip 8 - How did Pete get into training and writing? - The major role he played in the startup of 3D World Magazine, as well as his recent tutorial for foam on the leading edge of a wave. Finally - discussing his last book, “Deconstructing the Elements”.
