Max news
I'd like to thank Gary Dohanish for the heads up on this. I've been using Max 2011 since it came out but I was not aware that a very good subset of 'CityScape' is now packaged with Max 2011. Gary says that he's been checking it out and thinks it's works great. I can't wait to take it for a spin myself. If you don't know what 'CityScape' is, you can check it out here at the Pixelactive website. There you will find a short demo video with background music showing off their commercial version of the software,
Pixelactive is a California gaming company who's team has worked on 'Grand Theft Auto IV' among other popular titles. Apparently they used 3ds Max in their work. Now they are partners with Autodesk. From their website:
"The company's rapid urban modeling tool, CityScape, allows users to build both custom and real-world environments quickly and easily. With the editor, developers can focus on designing their world rather than the labor involved in creation. CityScape's unique feature set allows users to produce environments magnitudes faster than with traditional object modeling tools or scene editors."This Pixelactive Blog has a chart comparing the promotional CityScapes Max2011 bundle with the commercial version of the full software package.
