Our friends at 3Dats are providing free training videos on modeling in 3ds Max and exterior and interior lighting with V-Ray. By becoming a registered guest at their site you gain full access to this material. These videos are offered as downloads so they can be viewed at your convenience. In a two part training installation Alexander Gorbunov takes us through the steps in modeling a chair with support files available in Max 2009 and 2010 format. These are advanced techniques and worth a look.

There is also some very good free V-Ray training available. One on Practical Exterior lighting, and as stated on the site "The goal of this module is to teach students how to achieve the highest quality renderings in the shortest amount of rendering time."

The other videos deal with Practical Interior Lighting with V-Ray. From the site: This video provides a solid review of material from all previous modules and serves as an invaluable guide to the complex subject of interior lighting." Support files for the V-Ray training is in Max 2009 format and V-Ray 1.5 RC3.
